Hi! I’m Sarah, founder of Backwoods Goods. My blog focuses on showcasing local and seasonal ingredients through rustic New England recipes with a modern zest. I partner with local farms, restaurants and events to help others eat local too!
Why do you think it’s important for New Hampshire to buy and eat local food?
This pandemic has been an eye-opening experience for a lot of aspects of our society, a very important one being our food supply. All of the uncertainty causing panic and empty store shelves solidifies the importance of buying local and growing your own food. Farms are our foundation and our future.
What is one accomplishment you’ve achieved recently in your work?
Spending more time at home during quarantine has allowed me to focus on my gardening 100%. This is the first year that I have been able to research, experiment, and successfully grow new crops!
What is a challenge you face in your work?
The constant content needed to keep up with my social media following. I am always working, creating and taste testing behind the scenes but don’t always get around to sharing it right away!
