National Farmer’s Market Week

The National Farmer’s Market Coalition celebrates farmer’s markets across the country annually in August. This year’s farmer’s market week will be from August 4-10, 2019.

Their website features a wide variety of resources to help you plan for the celebration, and we will be tying these resources into NH Eat Local Month, too! Farmer’s markets bring growth to our local economy, create vibrant and healthy communities, encourage farming and the preservation of farmland, and increase access to fresh food.

You can visit the NH Department of Agriculture, Markets, and Food for their list of farmer’s markets in the state. Also check out Granite State Market Match, a program that allows shoppers on SNAP to buy fresh fruits and produce at a more affordable price.
